| Bang-up Game: Rigsby Slams 3 Homers Tuesday, April 4th , 2045 Chicago College catcher Adam Rigsby saw a fantastic day go to waste at River Bats Stadium as the River Bats lost, 13-12, despite a trio of home runs from the youngster.
"It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected Rigsby said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win."
The 18-year-old tallied three homers in a 3-for-6 day, and added 7 RBIs and 3 scored.
"That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said Philadelphia College manager . "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win."
Adam Rigsby struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Matt Schiller in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Matt Schiller in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Bill Fancher in the 9th.
Looking at his stats this year, Rigsby has compiled a .300 batting average, while hitting 16 home runs and driving in 37 runs. He has played in 33 games and scored 26 runs. | | |
