| Larkin Clips Skeeters for Cycle Tuesday, May 2nd , 2045 Chris Larkin was jubilant as the Brooklyn College Destroyers left the field with a win, 9-6, over the Mexico City College Skeeters. He had every right to be.
The 19-year-old left fielder hit for the cycle at Skeeters Park, had a 4-for-5 game and added 4 RBI and 1 run to boot.
"It's too bad I can't do that every day," Larkin said with a smile to reporters after the game. "It would do wonders for my batting average."
Brooklyn College manager was "proud" of the left fielder's feat, but was not expecting it to happen.
"Cycles are tough because triples are tough," the skipper said. "As soon as the ball left the bat on that triple, guys were jumping off the bench for him. Honestly, I wasn't sure he was going to be able to leg it out."
Chris Larkin struck out in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Armando Constancio in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
For the season, Larkin is currently batting .405 with 21 home runs and 65 RBIs. In 50 games he has reached base at a .507 rate and scored 62 runs to date. | | |
