 | Round 1 Goes the Distance, Los Angeles College Prevails Friday, May 5th , 2045 The fans in Los Angeles College are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Philadelphia College. The Los Angeles College Silverbacks finished off the Philadelphia College Counts 7-5 in the deciding game of the Round 1 played at Silverbacks Field. They took the series 4-3 and will now head to the Round 2. For his standout play, Los Angeles College third baseman Ken Lewis was voted the series' Most Valuable Player. He batted .429, drove in 14 runs and scored 9 to lead his club to victory. "We could never really figure out how to pitch to Lewis and that doomed us," said Counts manager . "Hats off to Los Angeles College, though. That was a great series." The Los Angeles College Silverbacks will play against the Brooklyn College Destroyers in the next round. Brooklyn College won their series against the Mexico City College Skeeters 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |   |
