 | Round 2 to Los Angeles College Friday, May 12th , 2045 With a 8-7 win over the Brooklyn College Destroyers tonight at Silverbacks Field, the Los Angeles College Silverbacks wrapped up their 1st title in team history. Los Angeles College left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Silverbacks celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Los Angeles College manager . "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as Los Angeles College celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works. "We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Los Angeles College Silverbacks," the mayor said. The champions completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Division 1 and a 32-18 record. |   |
