 | Avila FBL Junior College's Hottest Hitter Monday, April 14th , 2042 With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Mexico City College Skeeters center fielder Mario Avila took the FBL Junior College by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors. "The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Avila said to BNN reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere." The 18-year-old center fielder hit .409 (9-for-22) last week with 6 home runs, 13 RBIs and 8 runs scored. For the year, Avila has hit .348 with 24 home runs, 59 RBIs and scored 54 runs. |   |
