 | 5-for-6 Day for Camarena Sunday, June 12th , 2044 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Roger Camarena, it came around today. The 22-year-old catcher scattered hits all over New Orleans Grounds to pace the 14-9 New Orleans Winter Hawks victory over the Moreland Emperors. Moreland skipper told reporters in the press room that "Camarena deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Camarena hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Roger Camarena flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Don Langille in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. For the year, Camarena is batting .321 with 21 home runs, 48 RBIs and 37 runs scored. |   |
