| Guerra Strokes 3 HR Against Honolulu Friday, July 28th , 2045 Long Island River Otters left fielder Jose Guerra sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Honolulu Makos, Guerra told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Guerra pushed the River Otters past the Makos, 9-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Guerra told reporters after the game.
Jose Guerra hit a two-run home run off C.J. Nydam in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off C.J. Nydam in the 3rd and hit a two-run home run off C.J. Nydam in the 5th.
On the year, Guerra is hitting .237 with 28 hits, 9 home runs, 20 RBIs, .350 OBP and has scored 19 runs. | | |
