| Bouma Goes Long 3 Times Tuesday, May 20th , 2042 Hampton Township Buzz third baseman Justin Bouma put on a dazzling display of power at Hampton Township Stadium against the Moreland Emperors. In the 10-6 Buzz victory, Bouma penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Moreland manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 22-year-old had 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Bouma said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Justin Bouma hit a two-run home run off John Mays in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
Bouma is batting .336 this year with 18 home runs, 36 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 49 hits in 146 at-bats. | | |
