Providence Dukes third baseman Nick Avila failed to get a hit against the Long Beach Blue Devils and had his consecutive-game hitting streak broken. The 26-year-old went 0-for-4 in his club's 5-2 victory over the Blue Devils at Long Beach Grounds. "I think I only made it to 21 games because I got lucky once or twice," he said. "So I guess I can't complain too much that I got unlucky and broke the streak." Posting a .306 batting average to date, Avila has 14 home runs and 47 RBIs. |   |
