 | Monreal Raps St. Louis for 5 Hits Saturday, July 9th , 2044 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Gustavo Monreal -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Freedom Ballpark and paced the 11-10 Crawfish win over the St. Louis Arch Angels. After his dynamite batting performance, the Shoccoe second baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Gustavo Monreal singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jon Maxwell in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
