| Salinas Slaps 5 Hits Tuesday, July 4th , 2045 Alex Salinas was at the head of a Manchester hit parade at Manatees Park. The left fielder went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Grizzlies to a nice 16-6 victory over the Cabo San Lucas Crackers.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Salinas told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Crackers skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Alex Salinas hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This year, Salinas is hitting .396 with 5 home runs and 12 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .467 clip and scored 15 runs. | | |
