 | Fuentes Booms 3 Homers Wednesday, July 5th , 2045 Bradley River Sharks left fielder Sergio Fuentes sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Lake View Corsairs, Fuentes told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Fuentes pushed the River Sharks past the Corsairs, 6-1. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Fuentes told reporters after the game. Sergio Fuentes hit a solo-shot off Javier Martinez in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Javier Martinez in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Toby Sciarappa in the 7th. Fuentes is hitting .345 for the season with 7 home runs, 15 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 19 hits in 55 at-bats and played in 15 games. |   |
