 | Elrod Advances to World Series Monday, October 3rd , 2039 The Elrod Running Rebels took time to celebrate with the Elrod fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's League Championship Series triumph over the Hudgens Manatees. Members of the Running Rebels hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Elrod fans in attendance at Manatees Park, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 10-1 win to seal the series 4-1. "We've got great fan support," said shortstop Josh Harney. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Hudgens fans that were there even congratulated us on the win." For the series, Harney hit .391 with a .462 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 6 runs. Things weren't so cordial on the Manatees side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season. The Elrod Running Rebels will play against the Flagstaff Forresters in the next round. Flagstaff won their series against the Bowling Green Typhoon 4 games to 0. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. |   |
