 | Key West Takes League Championship Series Tuesday, October 8th , 2041 The League Championship Series may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The Key West Stingrays, however, are not complaining. The Stingrays were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the La Guaira Limas to advance to the World Series. Key West won the final game by a 6-1 count at Musketeers Grove and the series 4-2. Stingrays third baseman Gabe Alvarado was named series MVP, as he hit .385 with a .448 on-base percentage. He added 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 7 runs. "It's not going to be the last time La Guaira makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Alvarado said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day." The Key West Stingrays will play against the Bradley River Sharks in the next round. Bradley won their series against the Belfast Diamond Kings 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. |   |
