 | Almaraz Goes 5-for-6 Against View Sunday, July 2nd , 2045 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Jose Almaraz -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Flying Squirrels Grove, but the performance lost a little luster when the Biscuits were downed, 8-7, by the View Flying Squirrels. After his glittering performance, the Hornsby Bend left fielder told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat." His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book, too," Almaraz said. Jose Almaraz doubled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Marco Cordova in the 5th, singled in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, doubled in the 11th and singled in the 13th. So far this season, Almaraz has put up a .333 batting average with 16 hits, 3 home runs and 11 RBIs. |   |
