 | Portland Halts Torres's Hitting Steak Monday, July 24th , 2045 Edgar Torres's 27-game hitting streak was snapped at Grizzlies Grove. The 19-year-old Helmick Grizzlies third baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats in the game against the Portland Voltigeurs, but Helmick came out the winner, 13-2. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Edgar," Grizzlies manager said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames."
