| Ridin' High: Garibay Hits for Cycle Saturday, July 29th , 2045 At Aeros Field, Jesus Garibay led Ripperdan to a win, 13-7, over the Redtown, Angelina County Aeros by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats.
"Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," Garibay said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases."
In addition to going 4-for-6, Garibay chalked up 2 RBI and scored 2 runs in an exceptional performance.
Jesus Garibay hit a solo-shot off Jeff Strawhacker in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
So far this season, Garibay has put up a .363 batting average with 33 hits, 10 home runs and 19 RBIs. | | |
