The 20-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 13-3 Exploding Whales triumph over Knoxville. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," McGinty said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Ethan McGinty doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. McGinty is batting .483 this season in 7 games with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 14 hits in 29 at-bats. |   |
