| McKee Cracks 5 Hits Monday, June 27th , 2044 A jubilant Justin McKee joined the postgame press conference at Loggers Park to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Knoxville Red Pandas pitching staff he had just vanquished.
"It may not have looked like it," said the Eugene Exploding Whales second baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."
That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 13-3 Exploding Whales win.
"He made it look easy," said , manager of the Red Pandas. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."
Justin McKee singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jean Laurent in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
So far this season, McKee has put up a .440 batting average with 11 hits, 1 home run and 6 RBIs. | | |
