| Great Stroke: Chamberland Gets 5 Hits Thursday, July 14th , 2044 It was a high-five day for Rusty Chamberland, at least for a while.
The Sublime catcher got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the Aberdeen Rockers, but they were in short supply at the end, as Aberdeen won the game, 27-10. Chamberland finished with an impressive 5-for-5 line, but the Jackals couldn't hold off the Rockers.
"Rusty was hitting everything," said Jackals manager . "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion."
Rusty Chamberland hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Chris Dunson in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Robby Turbett in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off David Livingston in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
This season, Chamberland has banged out 24 hits in 74 at-bats for a .324 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .407 pace and his totals also include 17 RBIs and 14 runs scored. | | |
