Frank Boon of the Ripperdan Warriors had one such moment at Zephyrs Ballpark, when he went 5 for 7 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Ripperdan succumbed to defeat, 13-11, to the Chico Zephyrs. "This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 19-year-old center fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game." Frank Boon singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 12th. This year, Boon has hit at a .355 clip with 22 hits, 4 home runs, 9 RBIs and 17 runs scored. |   |
