| Pilots Stymie Phoenix, Take 3-0 Win | In a low-scoring contest between the Seattle Pilots and the Phoenix Firebirds, 20-year old left-handed pitcher Felipe Peralta proved to be the difference. The Seattle left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Pilots win. Peralta got the win, improving to 4-4. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. John Downey nailed down his 13th save.
Carlos Guzman had a big run-scoring double for the Pilots in the bottom of the third inning. With Seattle leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Bert Cole, who is tied for 8th in the UL in quality starts with 9, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pilots ahead, 2-0.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Guzman said after the game.
Phoenix's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
