| Pilots Lose By a Run at Phoenix | The Phoenix Firebirds picked up a win at Firebirds Ballpark, knocking off the Seattle Pilots, 4-3. On the mound for Phoenix was left-hander Diego Fierro. He played a key role in the triumph. Fierro, now 7-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Kevin Williamson finished to wrap up his 20th save.
Making an impact for the home team was Carlos Sanchez. In the bottom of the fourth, the former first round draft pick had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 4-1, Firebirds.
"I'm just out there trying to have as much fun as I can while I'm playing," Sanchez told the Phoenix Herald.
The Firebirds now have a record of 38-25 with the win over Seattle.
