Houston pitcher Jesus Arenas had a large part in his team beating the Mexico City Marauders , 3-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Houston reliever Enrique Castro picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1. Nick Weaver was tagged with the loss. The Rangers raised their record to 25-39.

Houston got a knockout punch from Tony Castellanos. The catcher hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

Arenas attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
