| 7 Straight Wins for Empire | The New York Empire did just enough to sneak past the Boston Kings, 4-3, at Empire Ballpark. New York pitcher Jose Rosa, in particular, had a standout performance. New York reliever Manny Grijalva was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Alex Ramirez. New York is now 13-4.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when New York right fielder Dave Nelson, facing Alex Ramirez, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Empire the 4-3 win.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Rosa.
