Houston center fielder Joe Medeiros had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-4, to Phoenix at Globe Life Field. Medeiros was 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Phoenix pitcher Diego Fierro got the win, upping his record to 4-9. Alex Ramirez got the loss. The last-place Firebirds now have a record of 29-40.

Phoenix used the clutch hitting of Ezra MacPherson to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Firebirds ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"I know we have our doubters," said Houston manager David Fields. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
