| Mammoths Earn 5-4 Win Against Empire | The Montreal Mammoths picked up a win at Mammoths Field, knocking off the New York Empire, 5-4, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Salvador Gonzalez played a key role in the triumph. The loss makes New York 7-10.
The Mammoths got a clutch hit from first baseman Frank Moreno. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Mammoths.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Moreno. "But we got it done."
