| Macias Stars for Pilots in 7-2 Win | The Seattle Pilots defeated the San Francisco Pioneers, 7-2, at Pioneers Park. Seattle was led by three-time All-Star Francisco Macias, who was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Luis Barrios was credited with the save for Seattle, his 3rd of the season. San Francisco is in the throes of a losing streak which has reached 9 games.
Antonio Valle came through with a big-time hit for Seattle. The second baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
