| Firebirds Edge Past Jets, 3-2 | Dallas wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Gerardo Corona, falling to the Phoenix Firebirds, 3-2. Corona threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Gilbert Babin picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-6. He struck out 6 in 8 innings. Kevin Williamson picked up the save for Phoenix, his 18th of the year.
Had Aaron Devine not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Devine hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Firebirds.
Phoenix manager David Fields commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
The defeat makes Dallas 40-30.
