The Detroit Vipers got a superb performance from pitcher Steve Van Orsdol, but the Philadelphia Fury still won the game, 6-4. Van Orsdol threw 5.1 innings of 0-hit ball. John Little sewed up the save, his 4th. Detroit falls to 9-11.

Omar Hernandez, who finished 4th in the IL in doubles with 26 in 2041, helped out the Philadelphia cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4 with a walk.

"It feels good to get this one," Hernandez told the Philadelphia Daily.
