| Unruh Leads Firebirds to Win | The Phoenix Firebirds polished off the Atlanta Peaches by the score of 9-2. The largest share of the credit belonged to second baseman Rich Unruh. Unruh was 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Firebirds. The Phoenix winning streak has reached 3 games.
Ezra MacPherson had a big 2-run double for the Firebirds in the bottom of the third inning. With Phoenix leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a slider from Miguel Millan, who finished 2nd in the IL in ERA with 1.82 in 2040, and swatted a double to right. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Firebirds ahead, 4-1.
