Phoenix and Houston duked it out and the Firebirds came out victorious.

The Phoenix Firebirds, behind a great outing from Johnny Beairsto, who is tied for 9th in the UL in innings pitched with 116.1, defeated the Houston Rangers, 3-0, at Firebirds Ballpark. Beairsto, the winner, moves to 11-4. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks.

The Firebirds had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 3-0, Phoenix, with one out. Houston, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Zachary Payne Jr. dug in at the plate, but on a 1-0 sinker, he flied out.

Phoenix has now reeled off 9 straight wins.
