| Luchadors Absorb 8-5 Home Loss | Denver and San Diego got after it at Luchadors Field.
The inspired effort of San Diego right fielder Ruben Ruiz was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-5, to the Denver Queens. Ruiz went 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The second-place Queens are now 52-34, the Luchadors 65-21.
Denver used the clutch hitting of Brad Cantor to snag the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Queens ahead, 7-5. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"This was a nice win for us," said Cantor. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
