Sanchez went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Obelix Costanduros, the winner, improved to 2-5. He held the Firebirds to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Earning his 26th save of the year was Nick Weaver.
In the bottom of the third, Mexico City third baseman Sergio Melendez had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and no one out, Melendez stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Mexico City. For the game, he was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
