| Hawks Drop Makos, 3-2 | Miami got a decent performance from pitcher Juan Magana, but it wasn't enough to beat the Chicago Hawks. Chicago won the Honolulu Stadium contest, 3-2. Magana threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Jarred Mudd closed it out for his 5th save. With the win, Chicago lifts its record to 9-12.
Chicago used the hitting of Grant Thompson to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Hawks on top, 3-0. For the game, Thompson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Miami manager David Fields.
