| Jackals Upend Makos, 7-5 | The Jacksonville Jackals topped the Miami Makos, 7-5, in Independent action at Honolulu Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Jacksonville third baseman Jared Davis. Julio Labron went 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits. The right-hander struck out 3 and walked 1. With the win, he's now 2-1 this season. Scott Lohmann nailed down his 9th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Jacksonville, had it not been for Miguel Loayza, the fan favorite . Loayza contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Jacksonville up, 2-1.
"We scored enough runs to win," said Davis.
Early on, the Jackals, at 17-4, have put the pedal to the metal.
