Phoenix and Seattle duked it out and the Firebirds came out victorious.

Dwayne Bland helped his team muscle past the Seattle Pilots, 5-2. In the game, the Phoenix center fielder was 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Johnny Beairsto. His record now stands at 13-5. The right-hander went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the Firebirds.
