Firebirds Rally Late to Clip San Diego
In a low-scoring tilt between the Phoenix Firebirds and the San Diego Luchadors, Diego Fierro, the 8th overall pick in the 2042 draft, was the difference-maker. The Phoenix left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Fierro, who led the UL in ERA with 2.10 in 2043, went the distance for Phoenix. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits. The Firebirds are now 57-41.

The decisive blow was delivered by Carlos Sanchez in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Dustin Seavert to win the game for Phoenix. The home crowd went nuts.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Sanchez told the Phoenix Herald.
