The Houston Rangers and Seattle Pilots completed their game despite the inclement weather.

Pitcher Hector Garcia was rock solid in helping the Houston Rangers beat the Seattle Pilots, 7-0. Garcia yielded no runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 7-8.

The Rangers got a big hit from center fielder Joe Medeiros. Facing Seattle pitcher Vernon Mathews in the bottom of the fifth, Medeiros pounded a solo home run to right. His 16th home run of the season put the Rangers ahead, 2-0.

"Hector -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Rangers manager David Fields. "He was the key to us winning."

The Rangers saw their record improve to 41-65.
