| Pilots Deal Rangers 4-1 Loss | The Seattle Pilots downed the Houston Rangers, 4-1, at Globe Life Field. Stellar pitching by Juan Ochoa had a lot to do with it. The left-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Adam Krawczuk picked up the save, his 27th. The third-place Pilots are now 46-61, the Rangers 41-66.
Seattle used a clutch at-bat from Antonio Valle to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pilots ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Valle. | | | | |
