| Pioneers Snatch Late Win | San Diego center fielder Ruben Antunez had a good game, even if his team did not. The Luchadors dropped a 7-5 decision to San Francisco at Luchadors Field. Antunez slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winner was Scott Kelly in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Dustin Seavert took the loss. John Pilkington was credited with the save for San Francisco, his 13th of the season.
Had Justin Fox not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Fox hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Pioneers.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Fox.
The last-place Pioneers own a record of 26-80.
