| Mammoths March On, Beat Vipers, 4-2 | Salvador Gonzalez, who is tied for 9th in the IL in innings pitched with 32.1, had a strong outing for the Montreal Mammoths against the Detroit Vipers at Vipers Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Andy Wheelock recorded the save, his 6th. The first-place Mammoths have won 6 in a row.
The Mammoths got a big at-bat from center fielder Rich Wells. For the game, Wells was 1 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Montreal a 3-1 lead.
