| Chicago Earns 4-3 Win | Chicago designated hitter Mark Hamlett picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Philadelphia Fury, 4-3. Chicago reliever DeAndre Woods was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Stéphane Dubois. The defeat makes Philadelphia 9-13.
Hamlett had a timely hit for Chicago in the bottom of the eighth. With Chicago trailing 3-1, he turned a 2-0 sinker into a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Chicago.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Hamlett told the Chicago Herald.
