Vipers Need Extra Innings to Top Kings, 6-4
Detroit designated hitter Chris Weinreis contributed significantly to his team's 6-4 win over the Boston Kings. Weinreis, who is tied for 4th in the IL in hits with 31, went 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Vipers. The Vipers, at 13-14, lead by one game in their division.

Weinreis had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 2-2 fastball from Ricardo Hernandez, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Vipers a 6-4 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Weinreis.

"Games like this one keep the antacid makers in business," quipped Boston manager David Fields.
