| Boardley, Kings Too Much for Fury | The Boston Kings topped the Philadelphia Fury, 8-5, in Independent action at Condors Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Boston left fielder Matt Boardley. Boston starter Nate Smith was credited with the win after throwing 103 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Carlos Ayala earned the save, his 2nd.
In the bottom of the seventh, Boston designated hitter Luc Chauvin had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Chauvin stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 5-2, Boston. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
