The winning pitcher was Lecomte, now 3-1. He tossed 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Malcolm Fields earned save number 10.
The Sunrays got a big at-bat from third baseman Gilberto Leyva. For the game, Leyva was 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Tampa Bay a 3-1 lead.
"Benjamin was in attack mode," said Tampa Bay manager David Fields.
