| Makos Win, 8-3 | The Miami Makos downed the Orlando Orange, 8-3. The hitting star was center fielder Joe Gibbs. Gibbs was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Makos. Earning his 4th save for Miami was Willie Lopez. Miami now has a record of 16-10 with the win.
Miami used a timely hit from Jason Prioleau to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Makos ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"When the ball finds the sweet spot," said Gibbs, "I can't complain."
