| Divisional Game 1 Victory for Carrell and Toronto | The Divisional got off to a quiet start, with the host Toronto Robbers taking a low-scoring, 2-1 win over the Chicago Hawks. Toronto left-hander Chris Carrell was marvelous at Mounties Park. The Robbers now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.
The Robbers got a gift in the bottom of the first inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Willie Palacios reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, Toronto.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Palacios.
