Empire Take 2-1 Lead with 6-1 Win
The New York Empire moved to within one game of the Conference Championship, downing the Orlando Orange on the road at Orange Park by a score of 6-1. Empire right-hander Willie de Leon had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Empire a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Divisional.

It could have been a different outcome for New York, had it not been for Neal Kerfoot, the 34-year old third baseman . Kerfoot contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put New York up, 1-0.

New York manager David Fields praised his team's "energy."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Orange Park in Orlando.
