The Tampa Bay Sunrays beat the Detroit Vipers, 6-1. Tampa Bay pitcher and Amherst, Massachusetts, native Jeff Bolser led the way. With the win, the Sunrays have a record of 13-16.

Robbie Aburto had a big 2-run home run for the Sunrays in the bottom of the first inning. With Tampa Bay leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Christophe Robert and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Sunrays on top, 4-0.

Tampa Bay manager David Fields commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
